Five years in prison for actor Pablo Lyle for killing a Cuban in Miami

Cinco años de cárcel para el actor Pablo Lyle por matar a un cubano en Miami

CDMX, Mexico.-The popular Mexican actor Paul Lyle was sentenced yesterday by a Miami judge to 5 years in prison, 8 years of probation and 100 hours of community service. The interpreter was convicted of the involuntary manslaughter of Cuban Juan Ricardo Hernández, 63 years old.

The events date back to March 2019, when the actor punched the man of Cuban origin during a traffic altercation, who died days later in a hospital due to head trauma.

Why did you kill Juan Hernández?

On March 31, 2019, after a vacation in Miami, Pablo Lyle was heading to the airport with his family, wife and children, in a car driven by his brother-in-law, Lucas Delfino.

In parallel, Juan Ricardo Hernández was driving his vehicle on the same avenue. The next thing that those involved reported is that Delfino apparently took a wrong exit and blocked his way, leaving his car in front of Hernández’s.

Then at a traffic light, Hernández got out of his vehicle and looked for Delfino to claim what had happened previously. They both began to argue but the vehicle where Lyle and his family were going began to roll alone and Delfino ran to get in and stop it.

When the Cuban was going back to his car, the Mexican actor got out of the car and ran to where the man was. There he punched her in the face and returned to his car heading to the airport.

Four days after the incident, Hernandez died at a hospital from a head injury.

What did Lyle say at the trial?

Before being sentenced, the actor apologized to the victim’s family and for the consequences of his actions.

“Your relative lost his life because of something I did, something that will be with me; It’s something that haunts me when I go to sleep at night, and it’s still there when I get up in the morning,” she said.

“Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that something like this could happen, that a life would be lost and many other people would be drastically affected, in a matter of seconds, with a single blow.”

For his part, his wife, Ana Araujo, stated before the judge that her husband is not violent and that what he did to Juan Hernández does not define him as a person.

“I am very proud of you, Pablo, because for many it can be easy to judge an unconscious reaction of a few seconds that does not define you as a person, but not everyone can see what I have seen. I have witnessed your pain, your suffering and your spirit. I have always told you, you are a heart with legs. That is Pablo,” she expressed.

The prosecution had initially requested a sentence of 15 years in jail.
