The National Directorate for Drug Control (DNCD) seized 320 cocaine packages through two simultaneous operations carried out in the Caucedo Multimodal Port, in Boca Chica and San Pedro de Macorís, actions that included the participation of the Public Ministry and intelligence agencies. .
The entity indicates, in a document, that in a first intervention, carried out in the aforementioned terminal, the agents inspected several containers, when they detected strange substances in a load of bananas that would be shipped to Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Subsequently, the DNCD continues, which in the presence of a deputy prosecutor proceeded to open the container, finding seven camouflaged packages inside, containing 200 packages of cocaine.
“The Public Ministry and the DNCD They handle good information about this case and hope to contribute new elements to the investigation in the next few hours, to arrest those involved in the frustrated shipment of the substance to Europe,” said the organization dedicated to combating this scourge.

In a second operation, DNCD agents, accompanied by prosecutors from San Pedro de Macorís, through a surveillance operation in the coastal zone of the municipality of Juan Dolio, in that province, located two men aboard a vehicle, who at Noticing the presence of the authorities, they fled, leaving behind a white Toyota minivan, Sienna model, license plate I-090185.
After the vehicle was seized, six bales with 120 packages of cocaine were seized inside, as well as personal documents, which will allow the investigative teams to broaden the inquiries and find those responsible.
Likewise, the DNCD said that it is also investigating whether the seizure of the 94 packages seized in the Higuamo River, in San Pedro de Macorís, last Wednesday, is related to this case.
In this regard, he stated that the tactical and operational teams continue to carry out joint operations along the entire coastline in search of new evidence.
“Two men who have already been identified are being sought by the authorities to answer for the frustrated international drug trafficking operation,” he said.
The 320 seized packages were sent to the Inacif National Institute of Forensic Sciences to determine the exact type and weight of the substance.

During the past year, the DNCD, led by Rear Admiral José Manuel Cabrera Ulloa, managed to seize more than 31 tons of different drugs, surpassing the figures of last year, when the authorities confiscated 25,903 kilograms of controlled substances.
