During this afternoon, a helicopter fell that was fighting the forest fire that is affecting the Galvarino commune.
Inside were two Conaf brigade members who died as a result of the accident. The executive director of the institution, Christian Little, confirmed that the victims correspond to the pilot of the helicopter and him or the mechanics of the aircraft.
The situation was confirmed by the Minister of Agriculture, Esteban Valenzuela, who regretted the facts and pointed out that the aircraft had capsized.
For his part, the presidential delegate of La Araucanía, José Montalva, went to the site of the event to verify the damage and consequences of the incident.
It is important to mention that there are now 7 victims who have died during the forest fires that have affected the south-central zone of our country: four civilians, two brigade members and one firefighter.
