This Tuesday, Carlos Jacob presented his letter of resignation to the secretary general of the Government Palace, to request of the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, after the former Alliance for Progress militant fired advisor Biberto Castillo León.
In his letter, Jaico specified that after assuming said position he was able to verify the “absence of an organized work system, expressed in a lack of rigor in complying with regulations and procedures.”
“This disorder led to serious management and decision-making errors, which could create spaces for corruption,” is read in the text.

Like Avelino Guillén and Mirtha Vásquez, Carlos Jaico warns of the presence of “shadow cabinet”, as well as the “harmful influence” of the immediate environment of the head of state.
“Likewise, I warned early on of the harmful influence that some cabinet advisers and appointed officials have on their decisions, like a ‘shadow cabinet’ of which I was never a part, to the detriment of the governability and stability of the country, as I have expressed on different occasions and in different ways. From my office, the greatest efforts were made to correct these practices, however, I did not have the necessary support to achieve it, ”says the document.
Along the same lines, the resigning secretary of Palacio asserted that the president “has preferred to keep them (the advisers) and continue down this path of erratic decisions that have led to a serious institutional crisis.”

“I sincerely hope that you summon professionals of academic, moral and professional worth in managing the State. This is the only guarantee of being able to lay solid foundations for the well-being of the Republic”, he indicated.
Carlos Jacob He ends his letter by expressing his wish that Pedro Castillo “finds the moral strength” to be able to lead his Government.
“(I hope) that he is able to understand the importance of his historical role for millions of citizens who still yearn for profound change for our country,” he said.
