The executive director of the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (DGAC), Iván García Terceros, stated this Thursday that the aircraft that were hijacked in Paraguay and previously in Bolivia, both with the registration CP-2038, They do not have the unique ‘data play’ and that their license plates were painted.

He explained that the ‘data play’ has some exclusive characteristics, specific to the aircraft, which are in the aeronautical registry and verified by the Airworthiness Unit.

“After the verification of technical data in (the hangars of) La Cruceña, that there was an aircraft that had a license plate painted on its fuselage that was not the original one, that is, it did not have the technical data,” he said. Garcia at a press conference.

On January 31, the director of the Special Force to Fight Drug Trafficking (Felcn), Major Roberto Helguero, reported that the plane with registration CP-2038, which was seized in a mega-operation on March 27, 2021 at the La Cruceña or Mondaca, located in Cotoca, continued in those facilities and that “didn’t come out at all.” He ruled out that it is the same aircraft that fell in Paraguay.

In turn, the director of the DGAC showed documents stating that original license plate was discontinued in 1993 in a judicial process that ended in all its instances because it was involved in irregular acts.

In this regard, it reported that there is a resolution indicating revocation of registration in that year passing into custody of the Public Ministry through Dircabi.

Regarding the aircraft that fell in Paraguay with a shipment of 265 kilos of cocaine, with two crew members (one Bolivian and the other Peruvian) and who had the same registration, the aeronautical authority asserted that after receiving the assistance of their peers in Paraguay it was verified that said aircraft hijacked last Sunday does not have the corresponding certification and that the license plate is painted.

Regarding the Bolivian pilot Lucio Alfonzo who was detained by agents of the National Anti-drug Secretariat SENAD in the neighboring country for the Service, García mentioned that did not have a license to operate and that it had expired since 2017, so its aeronautical activities were illegal.
