Three police officers were injured with a firearm after being attacked by a group of motorists on Wednesday night in front of the mayor’s office of the Carlos Arvelo municipality (Güigüe), Carabobo state, according to judicial sources.
The four attackers arrived on two black DR motorcycles and began shooting at the police station before fleeing.
In the shooting, officers Betania Martínez were injured (two gunshot wounds to the abdomen with exposed visors and another to the clavicle level); Juan Muñoz (wound to the buttock with exit to the right lower limb) and Anderson Barrios (wound to the little finger of the right hand), according to a preliminary report.
After the fact became known, a mixed police-military commission was deployed through various sectors of Güigüe to find the attackers.
