Executive will present a bill to advance elections in 2023

Through Twitter, President Dina Boluarte announced this decision.

“I regret that Congress has not reached the necessary consensus to advance the elections. As I announced in the last message to the Nation, we will immediately present the bill so that Peruvians can democratically elect their authorities in 2023 ″, he pointed out in a tweet published by the Presidency of the Republic.

This afternoon, the Plenary Session of Parliament rejected the replacement text that proposed holding complementary general elections in December 2023.

Currently, the only opinion under debate is that of parliamentarian Jaime Quito, who insists on calling elections together with the referendum for a Constituent Assembly.
