Sisalril says the claims of the CMD exceed the capabilities of the system

Santo Domingo.- The Superintendency of Occupational Health and Risks (SISALRIL) He expressed that the demands made in recent days by the Dominican Medical College (CMD) in the background could be fair, but “their claims exceed the capabilities of the system.”

Referring to the issue this Wednesday, Sisalril maintained that the CMD’s claims would cost at least, in rates and fees in the Contributive Regime, “some RD$ 1,634 million pesos per month additional to what is already paid today, generating an impact of RD$ 19,609 million per year; an amount that cannot be covered at present by the Dominican Social Security System”.

Through a statement, he pointed out that given this reality, the National Social Security Council (CNSS) approved a 20% increase in the fees for procedures, in addition to the 20% increase made in October 2021, adding more than 40%. in 16 months; and an increase in hospitalization consultations from RD$1,040.00 to RD$1,500.00, which were also increased in 2021 from RD$800 to RD$1,040, that is, an increase of more than 85% in said time.

Regarding other demands of the CMD, and due to their relevance, they were proposed to address them in accordance with the regulations in force with the Ministry of Health, the Specialized Medical Societies and this Superintendency, in order to define new courses of action that favor all parties, in attention to the behavior of the collection and of the Health Care Fund for People of the Contributive Regime,” the statement states.

He maintains that, given the interest in presenting solutions to the demands of the sectors, Sisalril urges to superimpose “private interests on the rights of the population, to raise the flag of the search for the improvement of the Basic Health Plan, which deserves the commitment to the organization of health services, the articulation of the service delivery network, the elimination of undue charges (charges above the agreed rates), and other barriers that generate more out-of-pocket spending for the population , to truly impact the improvement of people’s health”.

According to the entity headed by Dr. Jesús Feris Iglesias, in recent months, members of the Family Health Insurance have been affected “due to disagreements between the Dominican Medical Association and the Health Risk Administrators (ARS); this, as a result of the request for an increase in the fees demanded by the health union ”.
