Mendoza will have the PASO on June 11 and general on September 24

In the general elections, the people of Mendoza will elect the governor and lieutenant governor who will take office on December 9, 2023.

The Mendoza government made official this Wednesday the call for open, simultaneous and mandatory primaries (PASO) for June 11 and general elections for September 24.

The dates were formalized through the decree 98published in the Official Gazette of the district.

In the PASO, Mendoza will elect the candidates for governor and lieutenant governor, whose terms expire on December 9, 2023.

In addition, each electoral section will elect candidates for:
First electoral section: 6 titular provincial senators and 8 titular provincial deputies
Second electoral section: 5 titular provincial senators and 6 titular provincial deputies
Third electoral section: 4 titular provincial senators and 5 titular provincial deputies
Fourth electoral section: 4 titular provincial senators, and 5 titular provincial deputies

In the general elections, the people of Mendoza will elect the governor and lieutenant governor who will take office on December 9, 2023.

They will also vote to elect provincial legislators to the aforementioned positions, to replace the terms that expire on April 30, 2024.

In relation to legislative positions, the decree mentions that “the members of the list who have not been proclaimed elected and the official substitutes will be considered substitutes.”

As for the Mendoza municipalities that the justicialistas command in Maipú, San Rafael, Tunuyán, Lavalle, Santa Rosa and La Paz have already announced that they will unfold their local elections in relation to the provincial compulsas and will vote on April 30 in the PASO and on September 3 in the general ones.

While in San Carlos, governed by the official Cambia Mendoza, it was also resolved to split the local elections.
