Current gasoline price in the country will rise 250 pesos in February

By February 2023, the sale price of regular gasoline in Colombia will rise 250 pesos, so the gallon of fuel will cost, on average, 10,399 pesos.

As explained by the Energy and Gas Regulation Commission, the increase of 250 pesos is explained as follows:

– 191 pesos, by regular updates on February 1 of each year that respond to current laws and regulations (80 pesos for the national gasoline tax and 111 pesos for the retail distribution margin).

– 59 pesos, due to the effect on the variations of income to the fossil gasoline producer and its effect on the structure, “whose differential with the international price is stabilized through the Liquid Fuel Price Stabilization Fund (FEPC), and the reduction of the level of ethanol blend per gallon of gasoline from 5% to 4% for February“, explained the Creg.

The increase in the price of regular gasoline aims to reduce the fiscal impact of the FEPC on the Government due to the dynamics of international prices for refined products, which have increased due to international factors such as the price of oil and the level of global risk that affected the exchange rate in the country“, it was explained about the rise.

According to the information, without the Fepc, the prices per gallon of current and ACPM gasoline would be, on average, 15,549 pesos and 19,665 pesos, respectively.
