The segment of Corporate and Business Banking of Banco BHD Leónlaunched a new service model, aimed at the hotel sector and companies that develop activities within the value chain of the tourism industry.
This proposal was presented in International Tourism Fair (FITUR), held in Madrid, Spain, and makes available to the tourism sector, experts in the commercial sector, specialized financial and legal advice, financing plans, financial products and the benefits of the companies of the BHD León Financial Center.
Luis Molina Mariñez, Senior Vice President of Corporate and Business Banking at BHD León, stated that “it moves us to continue supporting tourism through a differentiating service. This year, we were able to see the difference at FITUR 2022, where we identified investment projects, with bank financing interest, for a value equivalent to US$1,300MM. The identified hotel projects would create more than 6,000 direct jobs and more than 5,000 rooms to the national hotel inventory”.
Part of the Bank’s agenda at FITUR included meetings with tourism and hotel businessmen, key people in the industry, and government and diplomatic authorities, such as the Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to the Kingdom of Spain, Juan Bolívar Díaz, with whom they met to discuss the opportunities to support investments in tourism and other economic sectors.
“The fair included several social activities and work meetings, in which it was possible to appreciate the collaborative and joint work that our public and private sectors showed. We believe that this was the basis for everything that could be achieved on this occasion,” added Molina Maríñez.
During the days of FITUR 2022, the entity held more than 20 meetings with potential investors from the hotel sector and companies that develop activities within the value chain of the tourism industry.
The portfolio of tourism clients of Banco BHD León has presented continuous growth and credit quality. The entity has financed the development of hotel projects and complementary supply to the sector in both infrastructure and services; in addition to hotel expansion projects.
Within the framework of FITUR, the BHD León participated in the international forum on tourism leadership Exceltur, in which important companies linked to the tourism industry in Spain interact.
