Dereck Gómez from Cocles is elected pitcher of the year in Youth Baseball

The right-handed pitcher from Cocles Dereck Gómez has been selected as the Pitcher of the Year 2023 by the specialized press that asserted their vote and the Board of Directors of the Panamanian Baseball Federation.

Gómez had a record of 4 wins without losses and led this department and also registered a 0.47 ERA after an earned run allowed in 19.0 innings worked in the regular round of national youth baseball.

Gómez received 15 of the 22 votes from the sports press and the total of the Board of Directors, which is 6 votes, to complete 21 of the 28 possible in total between the sports press and the Board of Directors of the Fedebeis.

The right-hander Javier Reina from Veraguas received 4 votes from the sports press and was second in the vote, while Jean Samudio from the West received 3 votes to be third in the vote.
