They seized 458 panelas of marijuana in Chichiriviche

A total of 458 panelas of marijuana were seized off the coast of Chichiriviche, Falcón state, reported General Richard López Vargas, head of the National Anti-drug Superintendency (Sunad).

The shipment threw a weight of 458 kilos of marijuana transported in a ship sailing on the high seasLópez Vargas specified in his social networks.

The operation was carried out by agents of the Anti-drug Division of the Bolivarian National Police, who proceeded to arrest the five crew members of the vessel.

The Superintendent recalled that they are already two procedures in less than a week that add up to 782 kilos of marijuana, being the first carried out in international waters off Nueva Esparta with 324 panelas.

During this year, the various security agencies have seized throughout the country 875 kilos 690 grams of different drugs. This means an increase of 669.91% in relation to the same period last year.

Such amount was confiscated through 798 procedures in which 1,020 people were arrested, according to figures presented by the Superintendent.

The top five entities with the highest seizures are:

Falcon: 458 kg 52%

International Waters: 324 kg 37%

Tachira: 21.01 kg 2.3%

Zulia: 19,172 kg 2.18%

Anzoátegui: 12,772 kg 1.45%
