Three adolescents have been wounded by bullets in the last 24 hours in sectors of Santiago and San Francisco de Macoris.
One of those affected is a 12-year-old minor, who was shot in the Ventura Grullón sector of the Duarte province municipality, allegedly while two adults were shooting at each other.
At the moment the two men, who are being sought, have not been identified.
Police authorities have launched an investigation into an incident that occurred on Monday afternoon.

Two adolescents aged 17 and 16 were allegedly injured by a firearm projectile in a dispute with a rival group for control of a drug point in Los Multis de Peking, in the southern area of Santiago.
The youngsters present impacts in the right lumbar region and in the left arm.
For the aggression, the authorities accuse a person only identified as Wilkin.
The Scientific Police collected 11 9mm shell casings, a mutilated projectile and a 38-caliber shell casing.
In relation to the incident, a person is investigated and the location of the others involved is activated to arrest them and bring them to justice.
