The Executive Power resolved an adjustment in the price of fuels that will take effect from tomorrow, Tuesday, February 1st. The price of Super 95 gasoline rises $3 per liter at the pump (4.26%) and goes from $70.41 to $73.41 per liter, while common diesel also increases $3 per liter (6%) and goes from $49.94 to $52.94.
While, the price of supergas (LPG) increases 5.35% and pass $56.16 to $59.16 per kilo. In this way, the 13 kg bottle will cost the public $769.08 (without shipping).
Fuel rates had been frozen for four months since October. At that time, although the Import Parity Price (PPI) indicated increases on several occasions, the government appealed to the extraordinary profits that Ancap obtained from sales of diesel to UTE for exporting energy to Brazil, and chose not to make changes.
“Once again the Executive decided to use Ancap’s extraordinary profits to mitigate the strong escalation of costs that has been recorded,” said the statement from the Ministry of Industry and Energy. “The adjustment of the fuels that governs from 0 hours of this February 1, will be of $3 for higher consumption fuels. This is a significantly lower increase than the international prices reflected in the PPI published by URSEA, which were driven by a strong rise in oil and freight prices,” the statement added.
