Ortega appoints a new director in Civil Aeronautics and sends a delegate to his embassy in Mexico

The Daniel Ortega regime continues to make diplomatic changes in its delegations- This time he appointed Elias Gerardo Valdes Cabrera as honorary consul of the Republic of Nicaragua in the State of Nuevo León based in the city of Monterrey, Mexico.

The appointment is contained in the presidential agreement No. 11-2023 published in La Gaceta, Official Gazette, No. 16 of this Monday, January 30, 2023. He had previously held this same position in the State of Coahuila, Mexico.

The honorary consuls carry out tasks of commercial and tourist promotion, representation and support before local authorities, in consular affairs and protection and assistance to Mexicans.

According to the newspaper La Vanguardia, in less than two years (2018-2020) the National Institute of Migration (INM) delivered two contracts for more than 460 million pesos to the company “Specialized Investigation and Custody Services, SA de CV” (SEICSA), linked to the dictator of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega.

“The company that was benefited from the contracts through direct awarding is owned by Elías Gerardo Valdés Cabrera, appointed by the Sandinista leader Daniel Ortega as honorary consul of Nicaragua in Coahuila, based in the city of Saltillo,” says the Mexican newspaper.

According to the Mexican newspaper Poder y Crítica, in 2017 the Ministry of the Interior of that country withdrew the permits to provide private security services to the Valdés Cabrera company.

“In this administration (the company of the honorary consul) has benefited from important contracts with the Federal Electricity Commission, the National Institute of Migration and the Mexican Institute of Social Security,” the newspaper wrote on its website.

Changes in Civil Aeronautics

Ortega appointed director of the Institute of Civil Aeronautics to Mario Jose Altamirano Diaz, according to the presidential agreement No. 13-2023. Altamirano’s appointment follows the “resignation” of Carlos Danilo Salazar Sánchez from the positions of head of INAC and presidential adviser for Civil Aeronautics activities at the national and international level.

The resignation of Salazar Sánchez was accepted by the dictatorship on January 26, according to presidential agreement No. 12-2023, published in La Gaceta on Monday, January 30, 2023. Salazar was director of INAC since August 23, 2023. 2018 and presidential adviser since the 31st of that same month and year.
