They seize a drug plane and a large load of cocaine in Hernandarias

The Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Qu Dongyu, held a meeting with leaders of the productive sector, in order to learn about the situation and existing needs.

Within the framework of the official visit that they carried out in our country, FAO authorities met days ago with local private sector actors, including representatives of the Federation of Production Cooperatives (FECOPROD), the Rural Association of Paraguay (ARP) , the Paraguayan Table for Sustainable Meat (MPCS), the Paraguayan Chamber of Supermarkets (Capasu), the Table for Sustainable Finance of Paraguay, the Mercado Abasto Norte and Paraguay Organic, among others.

The meeting was propitious to discuss the needs for cooperation and technical assistance for agribusiness, with a view to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), established at the United Nations Summit for Climate Change, which can only be achieved through a friendly production to the environment, sustainable and sustainable.

The highest representative of the FAO also internalized the government actions and measures aimed at the growth and development of the segments that are concerned with generating impacts with social, economic and environmental results.

In this context, as one of the sectors that embrace sustainability in the country, the Paraguayan Chamber of Biofuels and Renewable Energies (BIOCAP), took advantage of the important visit to convey the benefits of the sector that promote the SDGs. “We, as a chamber, have declared to the General Director of the FAO that, up to now, we have not seen great results regarding the promotion of biofuels compared to the other Mercosur countries, which already operate with higher blends of biodiesel in diesel, such as Brazil in a 15% and Argentina 12%, managing to grow more, and this is what we also need”, expressed Massimiliano Corssi, president of Biocap.

He also highlighted the gratitude conveyed to FAO for a technical collaboration of said global organization, with the intermediation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG), for the realization of a Technical Study of Sustainable Soybean Oil Biodiesel Production in Paraguay in 2022 , for the impulse to the sector.

During the meeting, they requested the desire to continue counting on such valuable and important cooperation, seeking to develop agribusiness, in addition to providing added value to the national industry, always under unrestricted respect for environmental regulations, Corssi said.
