They sign an agreement that facilitates women with MSMEs access to preferential financial services

With the aim of promoting public-private initiatives that help women who lead micro, small and medium-sized companies, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM) and Banco Promerica signed a collaboration agreement that will facilitate access to preferential financial services, stimulating the economic dynamism, empowerment and development of business women.

The agreement signed by Victor -Ito- Bisonó, Minister of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM) and Carlos Julio Camilo, president of Banco Promerica, contemplates that those who have obtained the “Mipymes Women’s Business Classification Certification” will receive differentiated benefits from Banco Promerica, through an extensive catalog of products and services adapted to this segment that is so important for the national economy.

Bisonó said that it is a government policy to believe and support the desires of Dominican women, who, with their effort and hard work, at the head of MSMEs, are committed to continue growing and contributing to the economic development of the country.

“By sealing this agreement together with an institution that develops products and services designed for our people and our communities, a new range of opportunities opens up for women, a fundamental pillar of society and the family, for whom we work and design public policies that have a positive impact on social and economic matters”, the minister highlighted.

Camilo, president of Banco Promerica, indicated that with this alliance they reaffirm their commitment to continue contributing to the communities in which they are developed.

“With our commitment to promote transformation and aware of the challenges and barriers that women face, at Promerica we promote a bank that develops relationships and offers products and services to our communities, to help them overcome their limits, be they cultural, economic, personal or geographical Through this agreement we present a value proposition to support women entrepreneurs to potentiate their businesses” in a close, innovative and agile way, Camilo explained.

The beneficiaries will receive business loans and currency exchanges with a preferential rate, they will have specialized and personalized assistance and advice from the executives of Promerica’s specialized SME banking. In addition, they will have free access to webinars and workshops on economic prospects and other topics of interest for the growth of their business.

They will also have the facility of receiving payments through more than 600 branches affiliated with Banco Promerica, located throughout the national territory. In addition, they will obtain differentiated benefits during the first year with the Promerica Platinum Business Visa Credit Card and free emergency assistance during the first month. Regarding lines of credit, the entity will make CrediPlus Empresarial available, for disbursements in a simple way via Digital Banking with a preferential rate.

Similarly, both entities will join efforts to facilitate obtaining the Mipymes Mujer business classification certification, which is free of charge and can be registered through the web ventanillavirtual.micm.gob.do.

For this certification, women must have more than 50% shareholding or social capital, also have a Shareholders Meeting Minutes (does not apply to Individuals and IRLs), a list of members of the Board of Directors, as well as a certificate from the Current Mercantile Registry, be up to date with the payment of the payroll of employees registered in the TSS (IR-17 in case of having contracted or temporary personnel) and be up to date with their tax obligations, both for individuals and legal entities (IR -1/IR-2).
