UTE postpones payment of services to agricultural producers

The state company already has the form for rural producers affected by the drought to access financing for energy consumption corresponding to the months of January, February and March. The payment will begin in July and will be made in six consecutive installments, without interest. This is a measure of financial relief and of a voluntary nature, announced the director of UTE Felipe Algorta.

Algorta explained, this January 27, that agricultural producers interested in accessing the benefit must complete a form, available on the website for state procedures.

The director pointed out that this measure, unanimously approved by the UTE board of directors on January 19, is voluntary and will allow rural producers to postpone the payment of energy consumption generated in the months of January, February and March and begin to pay it off in July. Adherence to this proposal will not generate interest, fines or surcharges, he added.

Algorta reported that the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture, and Fisheries (MGAP) will send the forms received to UTE. In this sense, those interested with difficulties in accessing the tool may contact the departmental tables of the MGAP.

The hierarch estimated that the producers affected by the drought are more than 50,000, belonging mainly to the agricultural, dairy, livestock, and horticultural sectors.

With this initiative, it seeks to provide financial relief until the situation improves and that producers can focus on saving livestock and crops, considered the hierarch.
