Bolivia registers 1,628 new cases of dengue

“​​The accumulated cases of dengue in Bolivia reach 247; during this day, 1,628 new cases were reported and the total number of deaths reaches five,” says the report from the Ministry of Health on Friday night.

The epidemiological report of this State portfolio indicates that andthe department of Santa Cruz is the one with the highest number of infected records: 1,140 in total. Meanwhile Beni presents 335; Tarija, 64; La Paz, 54; Pando, 15; Chuquisaca, 13 and Cochabamba, 7.

Both the department of Santa Cruz and its capital declared a health emergency due to dengue and carry out actions, such as fumigation and destruction of mosquito breeding sitesto cut the transmission of dengue disease.
