The Foreign Ministry of our country is going through a second diplomatic impasse so far this week. And it is that this time, there was annoyance from the Israeli ambassador, Gil Artzyeli, for the condemnatory statements of the Government against the “serious acts of violence that occurred in Jenin, Palestine.”
In particular, the words pointed to Israel’s attack and indiscriminate use of force on a refugee camp, which resulted in multiple injuries and nine deaths.
As a result, Gil Artzyeli expressed his dissatisfaction by commenting on the Foreign Ministry’s publication through a Twitter, where he pointed out that “the Israeli counterterrorist operation, based on intelligence information, had the objective of thwarting attacks to kill civilians.”

He also accused that “Jenin has become a university of terror” referring to the fact that international law grants all countries the right to defend themselves against terrorism that seeks to kill civilians.
“Israel has the obligation and the duty to prevent terrorist attacks so as not to regret victims,” adding that “what in Chile is described as ‘innocent youth’ are armed terrorists complying with what its Constitution indicates, among others, which is to kill any Jew, inside or outside of Israel.
It should be noted that the statements that caused Artzyeli’s annoyance were published through a statement, where they stated that “along with condemning and deploring these deaths, the Government of Chile calls for respect for international humanitarian law and human rights, as also to depose any action of force of a unilateral nature”

They also added that “at the same time, Chile once again calls for a prompt resumption of political dialogue between the parties, which will allow progress in a process that leads to lasting peace and security in the area.”
It should be remembered that last September there was already a controversy with the Israeli embassy, since the authority went to La Moneda to present their credentials, and President Gabriel Boric did not receive it, arguing that he had to postpone the appointment due to an incident in Gaza that involved children.
