How to scan a QR code on your smartphone

  • Make sure you are in photo mode.
  • Point the camera at the QR code.
  • The camera app should automatically recognize the QR code and display a notification with the information contained in the code.
  1. Using a QR code scanning app. If your smartphone does not have a camera app that can scan QR codes, or if you prefer to use a dedicated app for this, you can download a QR code scanner app from your device’s app store. Some popular apps include QR Code Reader, QR Code Scanner and QR Scanner.

Once you’ve downloaded and installed an app, follow these steps to scan a QR code:

  • Open the QR code scanner app.
  • Point the camera at the QR code.
  • The app should automatically recognize the QR code and display a notification with the information contained in the code.
