At the ceremony for the 40th anniversary of the murder of nine journalists, known today as the Martyrs of Uchuraccay, members of the College of Journalists of Peru (CPP) Tacna Regional Council condemned the devious attacks on journalists during the protests taking place in the country for the simple fact of informing with the truth.

The person in charge of the speech of order, the journalist and lawyer Freddy Montesinos Ríos, deplored the use of threats, fines and quotas to force some citizens to participate in mobilizations that, in his opinion, have nothing peaceful because ambulances, police stations are burned , offices of the Judiciary, Prosecutor’s Office and financial entities.

“When roads are closed that make it impossible for food and fuel to arrive or establishments are forced to close, it is no longer a fair claim, it becomes fear and terror spreads. That is the slogan of the terrorists, they lead the people to their purpose without measuring the consequences, they do not realize that they affect the people”, questioned Montesinos.

He said that the people have the right to express their disagreement with all aspects of the country’s political life, to make the authorities feel their discomfort for the decisions they have made, but in a democracy, within the canons of the law, since the One’s freedom ends where that of others begins, otherwise it turns into licentiousness and anarchy.

“They do not realize that they affect the people they claim to represent and defend, a people who without more knowledge are present in this demonstration but the harasser is never ahead, it is the coward who is behind the one who urges to throw the stones,” Montesinos lashed out. Rivers.
At the ceremony, held in the presence of authorities and special guests, five new members of the College of Journalists of Peru, Tacna Regional Council, also joined.
