The Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPF) reiterated today (26) to the Federal Supreme Court (STF) the request for the removal of seven indigenous lands, including the Yanomami Indigenous Land, in Roraima. 
The reiteration request was filed in the action in which Minister Luís Roberto Barroso ordered in 2021 the removal of invaders from the territories, such as miners and loggers who operate illegally in the regions.
In the document, sub-prosecutor Eliana Peres Torelly states that the dissemination of images of the Yanomami’s malnutrition adds to the situation of non-compliance with STF decisions that determined the removal of invaders from the Karipuna, Uru-Eu-Wau-Wau, Kayapó, Araribóia territories , Mundurucu, Trincheira Bacajá and Yanomami.
According to the sub-prosecutor, reports show that the removal of the invaders was not carried out.
“The documents reinforce the failure to fully comply with the removals from indigenous lands”, says Torelly.
Earlier, the Supreme Court reported that evidence of non-compliance with the Court’s determinations and the sending of false information involving the situation of the Yanomami indigenous population were detected in the same process.
The crisis affecting the communities of the Yanomami Indigenous Land led the federal government to decree Public Health Emergency of National Importance to combat the lack of health care for the people living in the region. The ordinance was published last Friday night (20) in an extra edition of the Official Gazette. On Saturday (21), the President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and ministers of State visited Roraima to monitor the situation of the indigenous people.
