The Government affirmed that there is no persecution of Luis Revilla, since the process he faces is promoted by a neighborhood sector. From the Ministry of Government it was indicated that the migratory flow of the former mayor of La Paz is not monitored, while Justice said that clandestinity is not a legal figure.
“In this regard (of an activation of migratory alert) we must state that in the country we do not prevent any person who does not have the corresponding roots from leaving our borders. We are not persecuting anyone, be it from one party or another, we will only do what justice determines,” Government Minister Eduardo del Castillo said yesterday.
He indicated that he hopes that Revilla can appear before the Bolivian justice and tell his truth about the purchase of the buses.
Likewise, the Minister of Justice, Iván Lima, affirmed that “declaring yourself in hiding is not a legal measure and only occurs in de facto governments.” He stated that there is a democratic government that respects the rule of law.
He added that in no way is his wife being harassed. “Mrs. Maricruz Rivera was summoned as a witness, nothing more,” he said.
Regarding the complaint, he indicated that the situation of the case is being analyzed to see if there is something different from the report presented by his predecessor, Héctor Arce, in his administration. “It will be based on that that it will be determined what role the Ministry of Justice will assume.”
