The Government of Japan will disburse 3.7 million dollars for the equipment of 13 hospitals in Nicaragua, the Ministry of Health of the Central American country reported this Thursday.
With the disbursement, Nicaragua plans to acquire “20 different types of highly specialized medical equipment, totaling some 50 units that will be distributed in six departmental hospitals, four regional hospitals, and three national reference hospitals, that is, 13 Nicaraguan hospitals,” the authorities detailed. sanitary.
The contribution was guaranteed through the “Project of critical medical equipment for hospitals at the national level”, signed yesterday Wednesday between the Japanese ambassador in Nicaragua, Nakamura Kazuhito, and the Nicaraguan Minister of Health, Martha Reyes, according to official information.

The Nicaraguan Ministry of Health highlighted that the equipment will serve to strengthen “diagnostic tasks and medical-surgical care” of the 13 beneficiary hospitals.
Japan, Nicaragua’s second largest trading partner in Asia after South Korea, usually provides support to the Central American country on issues related to hospital equipment.
The Asian country has also contributed to Nicaragua on issues related to renewable energy, infrastructure, mainly bridges and highways, as well as the organization of collective urban transport.
