The non-profit organization Mapa: Abriendo Caminos, with the support of the Municipality of Pilar and private sector companies, will bring “CIUDAD MAPA” to Pilar: the largest children’s art exhibition in the country that projects to have more than 3,000 visitors. It will take place from February 10 to 26 and will be free to enter.
“CITY MAP” It is a city built on 600m2 of cardboard and recyclable materials in which works of art created by boys and girls from 7 to 12 years of age from all over the country who are part of the creativity laboratory are presented, and it has 7 unique spaces on a tour designed to make the imagination fly and provide an unprecedented experience for its visitors.
“We are happy to start this year by taking MAP City to Pilar and thus reach many boys and girls from the south of the country and the border cities. CIUDAD MAPA is the result of what happens when imagination does not stop and hopes to put children and their creativity at the center of the agenda”, highlights Magali Cáceres: Executive Director of MAPA: Abriendo Caminos.
In the tour of the seven spaces, the works created by boys and girls from 14 cities of the country that participated in the creativity laboratory are observed. Visitors will be able to experience the magic of the Dream Factory, the Children’s Museum, the Jaguarete Park, the Black and White Theater, the Garden, the Cinema, and the Central Paseo that has a mural created by Estudio 8 and that will be the great stage for cultural programming.
“MAP City is perhaps the only exhibition in the world that shows works of art created exclusively by boys and girls. We created a city so that many children and their families could live an experience valuing creation, encouraging care for nature and making local art visible” explains Catalina Bautista, Creative Director of Mapa: Abriendo Caminos.
This unprecedented space in the country is possible thanks to the support of the Municipality of Pilar and private sector companies that are committed to education, culture, and childhood such as: Fundación Itau, Personal, Fundación MuCi, Copipunto, Tiendas Pilar, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), among others.
“We are very proud to be the first city to receive Ciudad Mapa on its tour, reinforcing our commitment to providing the children of Pilar with spaces to develop their creativity. We work so that Pilar is a place that promotes art and culture, so we are excited to have more than 100 young university students volunteer to make this experience a reality”, says Fernando Ramírez: Mayor of the Municipality of Pilar.
