UN High Commissioner for Human Rights arrived in Venezuela

On the afternoon of this Thursday, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, arrived in Venezuela, who will fulfill a work agenda in the country.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights will be of visit in Caracas from January 26 to 28.

This, in response to the invitation made by President Nicolás Maduro.

It is expected that later, Türk will meet with institutions related to human rights, at the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, in Caracas.

This is the second visit made to Venezuela by a UN High Commissioner, the first being that of the former president of Chile, Michelle Bachelet, during her tenure as High Commissioner in 2019.
