The National Television Council (CNTV) came out to clear up doubts regarding the reform that enables the new constituent process, after having indicated that it did not contemplate a television slot for the election of the members of the next Constitutional Council, which has a date for on May 7, 2023.
By unanimous agreement of its acting counselors, adopted in today’s extraordinary session, the CNTV considered that “the television slot for the election of members of the Constitutional Council in accordance with the Constitution and the law does proceed.”
It is worth mentioning that the President of the Senate, Álvaro Elizalde (PS), had assured that the election would have a television slot, after the CNTV statement indicating otherwise.
“The foundations of this agreement will be announced together with the publication of the minutes of this session,” added the television council chaired by Andrés Tagle, through a public statement.
“The CNTV will distribute the times of the strip in its opportunity in accordance with the law,” the agency added.
