Mirtha Vasquez, who resigned this Monday from the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM), highlighted that his management “was very difficult”, but considered that progress was made in “more urgent objectives”.
“Convinced of the need for fundamental changes and consensus for the country, I accepted to be president of the Council of Ministers. It was very difficult, but we made progress on the most urgent goals: economic stability, containment of the pandemic, vaccination and returning to school”, indicated Vásquez through his Twitter account.
In addition, the former congresswoman also listed some actions during her time at the PCM, such as the way in which social conflicts were dealt with in the government of Pedro Castillo.

“We made the State present and put dialogue first and not use repression in the management of social conflicts. This new approach, which is based on recognizing those who protest as citizens with rights, must continue and be guaranteed in all sectors.”, he pointed.
At another time, he assured that an international lawsuit was being “prepared” “at the height of gravity” of the environmental disaster caused by the Spanish multinational Repsol. “I hope that this management continues and attends to the citizen’s request for socio-environmental justice”, he narrowed down.
“The Repsol spill exposed and left the government with the inexcusable obligation to improve the capacity of the State to defend people, the environment and animals from pollution (…)”, wrote the outgoing prime minister.
Vásquez also affirmed that “advances” in agrarian reform and the construction of a national care policy must be consolidated, promoting gender equality.
