MIAMI, United States. — A Cubana de Aviación pilot died in Russia last December while he was “on mission”, reported this Tuesday the state airline.
The deceased, identified as Lázaro Julián Lantaron Carrillo, held the rank of captain and lost his life on December 26, 2022.
“This morning, a tribute to Cap. Lázaro Julián Lantaron Carrillo, the book of signatures and condolences being enabled for families, friends and colleagues. We have the presence of his family and executives of the aviation system ”, specifies the Cubana note.
The publication does not specify the cause of death of the pilot, who was “affectionately” called “Lanta”.
“Lanta, as he was affectionately known, passed away on December 26 in Russia, where he was on a mission. Thank you for your loyalty and for your example, you may have escaped from our sight, but never from our hearts”, ends the statement from the state company.
Former colleagues of Lantarón Carrillo at the Escuela al Campo Pre-University Institute (IPUEC) Socialist Republic of Romania assured that the pilot would have lost his life due to a heart attackwhile they recalled their time at that teaching center.
“Lázaro Julián Lantarón Carrillo, perhaps you are no longer with us in this world, but you will not lack wings to continue flying. We will look at the sky and continue to remember our brother, the one who ran through the halls or explained a question to us about a subject. We will keep that friendly smile, the same one that corrected us and for which we are grateful to you today. On behalf of our group we extend our deepest condolences and condolences to his brothers and family.
