Locked in a human patrimony

Locked in a human patrimony

When visiting that place I never imagined that it would end up being a prison due to its design and construction, it is Machu Picchu. One of the most fascinating Latino attractions in the world that is now closed with more than 400 tourists stranded in the place due to political demonstrations against the current government.

An Inca citadel from the 15th century located in the Eastern Cordillera of southern Peru in a 2,430-meter mountain range that is located in a country convulsed by demonstrations by leaders or former leaders, such as Pedro Castillo, who is no longer president and that mobilized a significant number of followers who want him back in the presidency.

The railway that gives access to the site would have been damaged by protesters who demanded the resignation of the country’s president, Dina Boluarte, who as vice president and close to the protesters.

More than 400 tourists stranded for several days at the foot of the Inca site Machu Picchu in Peru were finally evacuated on Saturday, January 21, the day after new demonstrations against the president. From what I was able to learn, Peru is a country of good people, food and attractions like the aforementioned Machu Picchu, which is worth the time and investment that one can dedicate to see in person one of the seven wonders of the world that unfortunately is being marvelously affected by social protests that leave Peruvian and foreign visitors trapped.

418 tourists [peruanos] and foreigners were transferred from the town of Machu Picchu to Cusco”, the Inca imperial capital and important tourist site in Peru. “Due to the social situation and to preserve the safety of visitors,” said the Peruvian authorities who had ordered, on Saturday, the closure of access to Machu Picchu. The train that services the famous sanctuary is the only means of transportation to get there.

blow to tourism

A place that I particularly recommend visiting because of the feeling of freedom caused by seeing a gigantic work at a high geographical height and because of what at the time of its construction it will have meant for the ancient Inca culture that today, given the events that take place in the A country that was occupied by one of the most interesting pre-Columbian cultures due to its scientific and infrastructure work, has to cause a lament from wherever those responsible for Machu Picchu are.

A space that not only touches the respect and care of the foreign visit, but above all of the people of Peru who are the number one owner and promoter of what they have to show the world, encouraging more people to make their country win through of tourism with the investments that foreigners can make in their lands. Now when a simple visit to one of its world attractions develops with incidents such as those registered in the demonstrations do not help promote this country that has 6 presidents in 5 years.

The protesters are wanting to severely affect the government with everything they have at hand and the “kidnapping” of more than 400 tourists who could not leave or enter Machu Pichu. Almost a metaphor of the Peruvian reality for several weeks.
