Thousands of dead fish have appeared floating on the banks of rivers and lagoons in Argentina, in the midst of a strong heat wave and the lack of rain that has been recorded for weeks, the newspaper reported. The nation.

The environmental journalist Alejandro Inti Bonomo, who posted a shocking video on his Twitter account, stated that the impact on the fauna of Argentine rivers and lakes is due to the drought, but it is also a consequence of climate change and the burning of wetlands.

“If we continue on this path, this is going to get worse and worse”alerted.

For his part, Luis Mino, in charge of a camp in the area, said that the “sad postcard” extends around the entire lagoon. “It is around 20 kilometers. […] Everywhere you look there are dead fish.”he assured.

The situation in the Del Plata lagoon could worsen in the next few hours if the authorities do not remove the dead animals from the place, since the water could be contaminated, specialists warned.
