This January 31, 2022, Petroecuador and the private company Abastecedora Ecuatoriana de Combustibles SA (folding) signed a contract for the service of reception, transport, storage and dispatch of petroleum products in the infrastructure of Petroecuadorfor a term of 15 years.
This private company is made up of six marketers: PetrolRíos, Petróleos y Servicios, Masgas Ecuador, Petroworld SA, Clyan Services World SA, Energygas SA
The event was attended by the general manager of EP PetroecuadorÍtalo Cedeño, and the general manager of Abastecedora Ecuatoriana de Combustibles SA, Luis Oswaldo Gordillo, as well as authorities from the two companies.
According to Luis Oswaldo Gordillo, folding It is made up of six companies that represent 45% of the automotive segment nationwide. “We have come together for the import from fuel of good quality and compete with transnational companies”, he said.
For the execution of this contract the oil docks of Esmeraldas, La Libertad and Tres Bocas may be used, in addition to the pipelines, terminals and refineries, all these assets belonging to Petroecuador. The subscription of these contracts implies the service provided by the public company in use of the Petroecuador facilitiesaccording to the operational programming of the company.
With the signing of this agreement with the private company, existing resources will be optimized through the use of infrastructure of the public oil company, as established by Executive Decree 1158, whose Fourth General Provision states that “public companies must provide the infrastructure in exchange for the payment of a reasonable rate for volume and permanence, for the importreception, transportation and storage, and dispatch of fuels, with their cost and margin.
The rate will be established by the Agency for the Regulation and Control of Energy and Non-Renewable Natural Resources.
the manager of PetroecuadorÍtalo Cedeño, stressed that the signing is with a 100% Ecuadorian company, and that it will benefit users, since it will generate greater competition in the market.
“It is a healthy competition, that you can import the fuel that we Ecuadorians use; we will always try to make the specifications international”, he said.
Before this last signature, the state oil company had already closed five contracts for the importation of natural gas with Corpetrolsa SA, Terpel-Comercial Ecuador Cía. Ltda., Servicios WFSE Ecuador CL, Primax SA and Duragas. (JS)
