One of the most important businessmen in the world celebrated the possibility of Argentina and Brazil having a common currency. Elon Musk, founder of Tesla, SpaceX and current CEO of Twitter, considered through this social network that the creation of this asset is “probably a good idea.”

This comment was in response to a thread on the account Whole Mars Catalogwhich cited the interview conducted by the Financial Times newspaper with the Minister of Economy of Argentina, Sergio Massa, who revealed the plan that the authorities of both Latin American countries would have.

As reported by the Financial Times, the governments of Argentina and Brazil They are starting to work on a common currency with the aim that other countries in the region join this initiative. Representatives of both governments they will discuss the plan at a summit in Buenos Aires this week.

The initial focus will be how a new currency, which Brazil suggests calling “sur”, with the aim of boost regional trade and reduce dependence on the US dollar. At first he would run parallel with the Brazilian real and the Argentine peso.
