Unitary Platform insists on calling for the “superior unity” of Venezuelans

Unitarian Platform appreciates the support of countries to the report of the Determination Mission

Through a statement, the Unitary Platform stated that through the primaries it will seek to unite Venezuelans under a candidate, while showing solidarity with the people who come out to protest their demands.

The Unitary Platform (PU) issued a release this Monday, January 23, in order to make a call, 65 years after the events of 1958, to all Venezuelans to make efforts to allow the “superior unity” that allows them to fulfill the duty to restore the validity of freedoms democracies in the country.

The short letter stands out, the Unitary Platform stressed that it will fight “without rest” for that cohesion of all sectors and using the primaries as a tool to unite them through the vote.

On the other hand, they expressed their solidarity with the protests carried out by the unions in favor of a fair wage and a better quality of life; For this reason, they hope that the “spirit” of what this day in 1958 meant will accompany those who take to the streets and inspire them to fight for a better Venezuela.

For several months now, the different unions in the country, together with public administration workers and retirees and pensioners, have taken to the streets to protest for better wages and living conditions, since the devaluation and de facto dollarization considerably affected the value of the bolivar.

The Executive, for its part, assures that they are working to solve the salary problem of Venezuelans but warns that this is through increasing production. They suggest that if the sanctions are removed, the process could be much faster.

On the other hand, the statement of the Unitary Platform is recorded several days after the elimination, by the National Assembly elected in 2015, of the interim presided over by Juan Guaidó. Following this event, statements by Leopoldo López brought to the public arena the evident atomization of the opposition due to the accusations made by the politician in exile, one of them being the one that assures that there are people not interested in the primaries such as Manuel Rosales and Henry Capriles.

Capriles, along with other politicians, have responded to López’s statements and criticized his words.

It also occurs at a time when they are seeking to reactivate the negotiation process in Mexico with the official delegation, which demands that the 3,200 million dollars of the Social Agreement that was signed in November be released.
