Ricardo is a lawyer focused on human rights and Antonio is a teacher and community leader; They were reported missing on January 15.
They were last seen at a community assembly in Aquila, Michoacán, and the last communication they had was when they were on their way to Tecoman, Colima.
The truck in which they were traveling was later found with bullet holes on Highway 200, heading to Manzanillo.
The families have pointed to the Ternium mining company as allegedly responsible for the disappearance of the defenders, since they sought to protect the rights of the community members against the company.
