COE maintains three provinces on yellow alert and 12 on green

COE mantiene tres provincias en alerta amarilla y 12 en verde

The Emergency Operations Center (COE) today issued a second report in which it maintains three provinces on yellow alert and 12 on green.

The Major General Juan Manuel Mendezdirector of the entity detailed the provinces on alert:

Montecristi, Espaillat and Puerto Plata in yellow alert. While Imbert de Monte Plata, María Trinidad Sánchez, Valverde, Sánchez Ramírez, Samaná, Duarte, Mirabal Sisters, La Vega, Santiago, Monsignor Nouel, Santiago Rodríguez and Dajabón in green alert.

At the same time, it specified that there are 375 affected homes, 1,875 people displaced to safe places, 2 affected communities and a highway.

He explained that the atmospheric situation in the Cibao area is the product of this frontal system, which so far has claimed a life.

The fire departments, Red Cross and Civil Defense have been reporting the situations in the localities. Like the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INDHRI).

Maritime Conditions

Action taken:

The Ministry of Defence maintains permanent communication with the Directorate of the Emergency Operations Center.

The INDRHI focused on channel closure Villa Vasquez with the purpose of serving as a drainage for overflowing waters and attenuating the effects of flooding. Currently, and in coordination with the Board of Irrigators, work is being done on the cleaning of housing areas and the removal of obstacles on the bridge and sewers with a backhoe. In addition, damage surveys are being carried out in the affected agricultural areas.
