Senniaf issues four protection orders in favor of a sexually exploited girl and her brothers

Judith Pena | January 21, 2023

After a couple was arrested in the French Quarter township, Almirante district, Bocas del Toro province, for committing sexual crimes against their own daughter, a 14-year-old girl, the National Secretariat for Children, Adolescents and Family (Senniaf), issued four protection measures, one in favor of the adolescent and three for her brothers, in conjunction with the Court for Childhood and Adolescence.

The 4 brothers have been momentarily relocated with family alternatives without any link to the ongoing investigation.

According to Senniaf, since Thursday, January 19 of this year, the Secretariat has been accompanying the Public Ministry, in order to protect, in the investigation, all the inalienable rights of the adolescent and her siblings.
The authorities provided psychological care and therapeutic assistance to the victim of sexual assault.

For her part, the general director of the SENNIAF, Graciela Mauad, expressed the need to give an exemplary and severe punishment to the abusers and perpetrators of any act of this nature.

The SENNIAF called on the public to report these atrocious acts and not to remain silent, denouncing the National Police on line 104 or the SENNIAF through the Complaints Line, 63783466.
