After eight in the morning, a strong police contingent managed to enter the National University of San Marcos (UNMSM) through gate three of the campus to evict the hundreds of protesters from different regions who have taken refuge in that student headquarters for a few days to participate in the call Taking of Lima.

The police incursion in this house of studies ended with more than 205 intervened, according to the Public Ministry. The Minister of the Interior, Vicente Romero, however, assured that there were only more than 100 people who were transferred to Dirandro and Dircote. It will be the Prosecutor’s Office who determines if they are released. The demonstrators denounced that the agents threw tear gas bombs and acted with violence.
A statement from the UNMSM indicates that the protesters did not comply with orderly leaving the campus last Thursday, as they had agreed with the University Council, chaired by the rector Jerí Ramón. This situation would have been reported by the university authorities to the Police, who planned the operation. The institution pointed out that its facilities were taken over and violated by protesters.
To the National Human Rights Coordinator, there was arbitrariness and abuse of power by the Police, for which reason it filed a writ of habeas corpus against Minister Romero and the commander of the PNP, Raúl Alfaro Alvarado.

Criminal lawyer Luis Lamas Puccio indicated that police intervention at the university is framed within his prerogatives.
“The Police can intervene premises that are used to commit criminal acts, or used as logistical support for these purposes,” said Lamas Puccio.
Hours later, the demonstrators returned to mobilize through the center of the city and confronted the Police. As of press time, the protests continued.

CONTINUE THE VIOLENCE
Outside of Lima, violence continued to be the protagonist of the protests. The Ilave police station, in Puno, woke up engulfed in flames as well as the headquarters of the Public Ministry, Caja Cusco, Caja Tacna, Mi Banco and the financial company Credinka. Extremists managed to attack the police unit, taking advantage of the fact that the agents left the police station after the clashes on Friday night that left ten injured. The Ombudsman reported the death of Isidro Arcata Mamani (62), injured precisely on Friday night. There are five people in custody.
While, two other mining units were targeted by vandals in Cusco and Apurímac.
The Anabi mining company reported that a group of protesters raided its facilities in Huisamarca (Cusco) and Utunsa (Apurímac) on Friday night, causing destruction and setting them on fire.
The death of a citizen was also reported during the clashes over the unblocking of the road in the province of Virú, in La Libertad.
