The Permanent Commission asked the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris) to approve the emergency use of bivalent vaccines in order to achieve definitive containment of covid-19 infections in the country.
In the opinion approved by the Permanent, the relevance and urgency of taking measures to prevent the timely supply of medicines, particularly anticovid vaccines, is raised.
The resolution cites research from the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that new bivalent vaccines are designed to improve the body’s defenses against disease and are more effective. to contain the most recent variants of the virus.
The same studies explain that bivalent vaccines increased the defenses of citizens of that country against severe covid, in addition to reducing hospitalization by almost 50 percent, compared to groups inoculated with the first generation of biologicals.
