President Maduro appoints Antonio Morales Minister for Commerce

This Thursday, President Nicolás Maduro announced the appointment of Colonel Antonio Morales as the new Minister for National Commerce.

Through a message on his account on the social network Twitter, Maduro stressed that the new minister will continue to promote commercial activity, entrepreneurship and the real economy of Venezuela.

Likewise, the President thanked Dheliz Álvarez for her performance up to now in charge of that portfolio.

«Since this #19 Jan, I have appointed Colonel Antonio Morales, new Minister of People’s Power for National Commerce. So that it continues to promote commercial activity, entrepreneurship and the real economy of the country. I thank Dheliz Álvarez for his valuable performance. Let’s move forward!” published the President.

Morales has a degree in Military Sciences and Arts graduated from the Military Academy of Venezuela, with a specialization in Infantry in that house of studies.

He has performed different functions in the public administration, including the Ministry of Popular Power of the Office of the Presidency and Monitoring of Government Management.

In 2017 he was appointed as Superintendent of the Banking Sector Institutions.
