MADRID, Spain.- The Cuban art exhibition “Espíritu”, organized by the Arts Connection Foundation, is exhibited these days at the ID Art Lab in Miami; composed of two samples: “Collection” and “Children of the Gods” (Children of the Gods).
“Colección” exhibits Cuban serigraphs and sculptures by contemporary Cuban artists such as Mabel Poblet, Frank Martínez and The Merger; as well as renowned avant-garde artists, among them Wifredo Lam, Víctor Manuel, Amelia Pelaez, René Portocarrero and Servando Cabrera. The closing of “Collection” will be this Saturday, January 21, at 7:00 pm.
While “Children of the Gods” exposes the work of the artist Oswaldo Ferrer Miranda, with seven portraits of his work “Tataranietos de Dios” and some unpublished pieces.
Oswaldo Ferrer Miranda “explores in his oil portraits the legacy of African religions in Cuba; practices that are an important pillar of Cuban and Caribbean identity,” said Arts Connection.
The exhibition is produced by Félix Suazo and Domingo de Lucía, director of ID Art Lab, with the support of Duende Media. The curatorship was in charge of Tania María Piñeiro Bequet.
During 2023, the Arts Connection Foundation will develop various activities in the ID Art Lab spaces, located at 676 NW 23 St. Miami (FL 33127), as a result of a new alliance that will provide a permanent space for the non-profit organization founded by the artist and collector Andreina Fuentes Angarita, consolidating her presence in South Florida.
