The president Dina Boluarte today, Wednesday, January 18, attended the Mass and Te Deum offered by the Archbishop of Lima, Monsignor Carlos Castilloas part of the activities commemorating the 488th anniversary of the founding of the city of Lima.
The activity takes place in the Lima cathedral from 10:00 a.m.with the participation of the mayor of Lima, Rafael Lopez Aliaga; the president of the Congress, Joseph Williamsand other authorities.
The president was received by the Lima burgomaster, with whom she entered to participate in the ecclesiastical act. Her ministers did not accompany her because they are in a Council session like every Wednesday. This in the midst of a wave of protests in the interior of the country and soon in Lima, as several protesters traveled to march in the capital.
What are the activities scheduled for today?
At 12:00, in the municipal palace, the solemn session will be held with the presence of authorities of the powers of the State, Armed Forces and PNP, mayors, representatives of the diplomatic corps, public and private institutions, among others.
During this activity, the National Anthem will be sung, the Act of the Foundation of Lima will be read by Isaac Estephano Escobedo Ríos, metropolitan councilor; order speech by the first alderman, Renzo Reggiardo Barreto; reading of the mayor’s resolution that formalizes the delivery of decorations to personalities for their contribution to the country.
