The dollar began 2023 with a loss of strength against the Colombian peso. This January 16 the foreign currency still is below 4,700 pesos after having registered prices above 5,000 pesos in 2022.
For the first hours of the day on Monday, at 8:44 am, the dollar registered an average price of $4,698.17. That is, 4.18 pesos above the TRM of the day, which is at $4,693.99.
Finally, it closed with an average price of $4,674.45. Which implies 19.54 pesos above the TRM of the day.
The opening price of the day was $4,700. Finally, the maximum trading value was $4,700 and the minimum was $4,662.

Currently, the Colombian peso is the few currencies that are strengthening against the dollar globally. One of the reasons has to do with the new drop in inflation in the United States in December, the sixth in a series that left it at 6.5 percent, the lowest since October 2021.
This fall in the cost of living in the North American country led to a good part of the currencies strengthening against the dollar this week.
