Political and union leaders expressed their solidarity with the social leader and leader of the Túpac Amaru Milagro Sala on Monday, seven years after her first arrest, they reiterated the request for release through a pardon and agreed that it is a case of “judicial prosecution” that “injures democracy”.

“I want to join the embrace of Milagro and the request that the path of pardon be definitively the one that opens the doors of freedom,” said the deputy and general secretary of the CTA, Hugo Yaskyduring a press conference called by the Committee for the Freedom of Milagro Sala with the support of Human Rights organizations at the headquarters of ATE Capital.

The legislator argued that “when the law is not complied with, human rights or the rule of law and constitutional guarantees are violated in a province, it is the responsibility of the President of the Nation.”

For his part, the General Secretary of ATE Capital, Daniel CatalanoI think that “Democracy is in intensive therapy because there is a judiciary that permanently threatens it.”

“When the judiciary doesn’t work, who is it that guarantees our rights as citizens? Milagro can’t be imprisoned for another day,” Catalano said.

Meanwhile, the Buenos Aires Minister of Women, Gender Policies and Sexual Diversity, Stella Diaz, who was also present. He warned that Sala “was demanding the right to work and housing for his fellow citizens, as he always did, She militated all her life for the rights of her people and that is what led her to her arrest”.

Other referents also raised their voices on social networks seven years after the arrest of Sala for leading a camp, and denounced the “persecutory actions” suffered by the provincial government headed by the radical Gerardo Morales.

“Milagro has been in jail for 7 years. In prison for being a female, black, coya and Peronist leader. For never having betrayed the people and for having fought tirelessly,” said the FdT deputy Gabriela Estevez from his Twitter account.

And he remarked: “Milagro Sala is imprisoned because the Judicial Mafia will never forgive her for all that”.

From that same social network, the general secretary of the Federation of Industry and Allied Workers (FeTIA), Peter Wasiejkoexpressed: “we continue to demand their freedom as we did from the first day.”

Also the president of the FORJA Concertación Party and vice president of ENACOM, Gustavo Lopezdemanded freedom for the social leader and tweeted: “We ask for Pardon Now.”
