MADRID, Spain.- A total of 98,257 Cubans receive water by tanker cars depending on the availability of fuel in Villa Clara, the provincial authorities reported during a meeting to analyze “the complex situation with the water supply in this central province.”
The municipalities most affected by broken equipment are Camajuaní, Santa Clara, Ranchuelo and Manicaragua, said the delegate of Hydraulic Resources, Lisardo González Saavedra, quoted by the newspaper Vanguard.
The owner also specified that in the case of the provincial capital, 86,650 inhabitants are in this situation, especially those who are supplied by the Minerva-Ochoita System.
According to the information, these problems are mainly due to the technical deterioration of the pumping equipment, even when the workers of the Villa Clara Water and Sewerage Company are working on its repair.
In December 2022, more than 20 communities in the San Antonio del Sur municipality, in Guantánamo, received water in pipes due to the extreme hydrological drought existing in that territory.
Last week, the state-owned Aguas de La Habana Company reported that the water service would be interrupted in the municipalities of La Lisa, Playa and Marianao, due to maintenance and repair work on the conductors and electrical lines that feed the Ariguanabo supply source.
How are you, there are many situations to those that Cubans have to face due to the water crisis, another of the many problems that have afflicted them for years in their daily lives.
The passing of the years, coupled with government inefficiency, has dramatically affected the deterioration of the country’s hydraulic infrastructure.
Although the media frequently disclose actions aimed at maintaining the networks, the results are not perceived. On the contrary, in any eventuality the consequences are catastrophic.
