Colombian anesthesiologist Andres Eduardo Onate Carrillo, accused of rape of a vulnerable person, was arrested today (16) in Rio de Janeiro. According to the Civil Police, he was arrested by agents of the Child and Adolescent Victim Police Station (DCAV), at his own residence, in Barra da Tijuca.
The police served arrest warrants and search and seizure warrants. Carrillo is suspected of raping sedated patients during surgeries in public and private hospitals. The Civil Police reported that he had the habit of filming the act of crime and collecting the images.

The Colombian also responds to an inquiry into the production and storage of child abuse scenes. More than 20,000 files with images of sexual abuse involving children and adolescents were found in the doctor’s electronic equipment.
“The analysis of the material drew attention to the seriousness and number of files, which even included babies younger than one year old,” the police said in a statement.
The investigations began last month, with the sharing of information between the Service for Repression of Hate Crimes and Child Pornography (Sercopi) of the Federal Police with the Intelligence of the 2nd Department of Area Police (DPA) of the Civil Police.
The next steps of the investigation include raising all the units in which the doctor works to find new possible victims, in addition to analyzing the seized material.
In July last year, anesthesiologist Giovanni Quintella Bezerra was arrested after raping a woman during childbirth in the surgical center of the Hospital da Mulher Heloneida Studart, in São João de Meriti, in Baixada Fluminense. He is arrested and the justice denied the habeas corpus in November.
