The Ministry of Labor received a total of 65 complaints against companies for not having paid the corresponding bonus to their workers.
Of that number, 14 firms have already complied with the benefit payment through the mediation carried out by officials of said ministry, while another 6 were once again called to appear due to their failure to attend the first appointment.
In this context, the report states that the companies that did not comply with the norm are subject to a fine of 10 minimum wages for each worker.

Those initially affected were a total of 128 workers who carry out their work mainly in Asunción, the Central, Cordillera, Concepción and Alto Paraná departments, especially in the bakery, ceramics, gastronomy and private security sectors.
In this regard, the Ministry of Labor has a digital tool to calculate the amount that each worker must receive according to the seniority he has in his job.

The Article 243 of the Labor Code “establishes a complementary annual remuneration or bonus, equivalent to one twelfth of the remuneration accrued during the calendar year in favor of the worker in all respects (salary, overtime, commissions, or others), which can be paid until December 31 , or at the time the employment relationship ends if it occurs before that time of the year”.
In case the employer do not pay the bonusthe worker can file a complaint in person at the headquarters of the Ministry of Labor, located at Luis Alberto de Herrera street corner Paraguarí, Asunción, as well as in the regional offices in the interior of the country.
