The salve is one of the religious musical expressions of greatest musicological interest in the Dominican Republic.
An unprecedented concert of salves will be offered the other Saturday above, on January 21, 2023, at the León Center in Santiago.
It is a work of unusual magnitude from the point of view of Dominican religious folklore, carried out over three decades by the musician from Santiago, Jochy Sánchez, who for this titanic effort of compilation and research would deserve great recognition.
In the concert, within a week, Maridalia Hernández, Pavel Núñez, Carolin Rodríguez and Rubén Mirabal will take part. It will be a night to honor Our Lady of Altagracia, the protector of the Dominican people.
It is important that this work be collected both phonographically and visually, for the purposes of its preservation, of which the friends of the León Center are surely aware.
